About Us

A document service, run by a title research company

TitleDocuments.com is operated by AFX Research, LLC — the same company that runs courthouse title searches in all fifty states. This is the fast, self-serve end of that business.

AFX Research has been researching property records nationwide since 1995, from offices in San Luis Obispo, California. Most of what the company does is abstracting: a person goes to a county office and reads the actual documents.

This site does something narrower and faster. It retrieves what the county has already recorded — the current-owner deed, a specific recorded document you name, the open mortgages and their assignments, or the judgments and liens against a name or a parcel — and sends it to you as a link, usually within one to three business days. Four products, priced from $75, with a real sample of each one you can open before you buy.

The reason we keep both is that they answer different questions, and selling the wrong one wastes your money. If your matter needs an abstractor at the courthouse, we would rather point you at one of our state sites than take the order here.

Memberships

Three industry bodies, and what they mean

  • ALTA: The American Land Title Association, the national trade body for the land title industry.
  • BBB: A Better Business Bureau profile you can look up, which is the point of having one.
  • NALTEA: The National Association of Land Title Examiners and Abstractors — the body for the abstractors who do the courthouse work.

Our Network

The rest of the network

A document search is not a courthouse title search. When a matter needs an abstractor working the county records on the ground, these are our own state properties — all 50 of them are AFX Research sites, not third-party firms.

Order Your Property Documents

Pick the product that covers what you need — a current deed retrieval from $75, or a search for the mortgages, judgments and liens recorded against the property. Records are retrieved from the county's public records office and arrive as an emailed link, typically in one to three business days for a retrieval and three to five for a search. Open a sample first if you want to see exactly what you get.
